Growth: “To spring up and develop to maturity,
increase and expand.”

There are many different meanings to the word growth.
“Spiritual growth” also has a variety of meanings. There
is a sense of spiritual maturity in many people, but
spiritual growth never stops. It is transcendent; it goes
beyond all we know. It goes beyond material experience.

Most lasting spiritual growth is slow. There may be
sudden experiences of incredible dimension, but added
over time, these are fewer than the daily experiences of a
spiritual nature that, in the end, amount to so much of
who we are.

It is the smallest wish, the tiniest thought, the aim of our
intentions that accumulate and determine our spiritual
nature, our very being.

Little things count. Our lives, for the most part, are made
up of many little things. When we want or need to do
something really big, our effectiveness may well be
determined by how the little things we have done before
add up.

Start with one small step if you want to make a change,
if you want to grow. Sometimes, big changes are in order.
For the most part, however, little steps of faith and action
get us where we need to go.
